About TechSpecs
Who we are, how we test and review technology, and the editorial standards behind every TechSpecs review, spec sheet, and guide.
TechSpecs exists to make buying technology less stressful - cutting through scattered specs and loud marketing so you can decide fast and buy with confidence.
Every page is built to answer one question well: is this the right product for you, and why? We don’t chase hype cycles or recycle press releases - we measure, compare, and explain, then tell you plainly who should buy and who should skip.
Six ways we cover technology
From quick answers to deep-dive reviews, each format is shaped around the decision you’re trying to make.
The principles behind every page
These aren’t aspirations - they’re the rules we hold ourselves to on every review, spec sheet, and guide.
Independent
Coverage is earned on merit, never bought. No advertiser or affiliate partner gets a say in our verdicts or what we choose to cover.
Editorial policyHands-on & researched
We test devices in real-world use and verify every spec against primary sources before it goes live.
How we testTransparent about money
When a link earns us a commission, we say so. You always know how a page is funded.
Affiliate disclosureCorrections welcomed
We fix mistakes fast and credit substantive corrections. Accuracy beats being right the first time.
Corrections policyPrivacy-respecting
We collect as little as possible, explain what we do collect, and never sell your personal data.
Privacy policyAccessible to all
We build to WCAG 2.1 AA so the site works with keyboards, screen readers, zoom, and reduced motion.
Accessibility statementHow we’re funded
TechSpecs is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) and by affiliate commissions earned when you buy through some of our links. Ads are clearly separated from editorial content, and neither advertisers nor affiliate partners have any influence over our verdicts, our scores, or which products we choose to cover. Spending money with us is never a path to better coverage.
The people behind it
TechSpecs is produced by a small team of writers and editors with hands-on experience across phones, laptops, wearables, and audio. Every review and guide carries a named byline, so you always know whose expertise stands behind the work.
