The Era 100 is the most complete compact speaker Sonos has made. By splitting the highs across two angled tweeters and pairing them with a bigger mid-woofer, it delivers genuine stereo separation and noticeably more low end than the Sonos One it replaces. The long-overdue addition of Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB-C line-in finally frees it from the Wi-Fi-only constraint, and Trueplay tuning landing on Android widens the audience. The catches are minor but real: the line-in and Ethernet adapters cost extra, there is no Google Assistant, and it is mains-powered only. For anyone building or extending a Sonos system, it is an easy recommendation.
A real step up from the Sonos One
The stereo separation from a single speaker is genuinely impressive — vocals sit centre and instruments spread out left and right. Bass is fuller than my old Sonos One too. Setup over the app took five minutes and Trueplay made a noticeable difference in my living room.
Bluetooth is the killer addition
Finally I can pair straight from my laptop without messing with Wi-Fi. Sound is excellent for the size. Only gripe is that the line-in adapter costs extra — for the price I expected it in the box. Still, as part of my Sonos setup it's brilliant.
Great speaker, just no Google
Build quality feels premium and the volume slider is a nice tactile touch. Alexa works well for music commands. The one thing to know going in is there's no Google Assistant, which was a dealbreaker check for me since the rest of my home is Google. Sound itself is fantastic.

The angled tweeters create a wider soundstage than the old Sonos One's single full-range driver, so you get real left/right separation from one cabinet, though the effect is naturally limited by the small enclosure.
Yes, via a USB-C port on the back that accepts line-in. You need the Sonos Line-In Adapter (USB-C to 3.5 mm), which is sold separately. With it you can plug in a turntable's phono preamp output or any 3.5 mm source and stream that audio around your Sonos system.
Yes — Bluetooth 5.0 is built in, a first for a non-portable Sonos speaker, so you can pair directly from a phone or laptop without Wi-Fi. AirPlay 2 also works but routes over your Wi-Fi network from Apple devices. Bluetooth is the more universal option for guests or non-Apple devices.

Trueplay measures your room's acoustics and tunes the speaker to suit it. On the Era 100 there are two modes: full Advanced Trueplay using an iPhone or iPad's microphone, and a Quick Tune mode that uses the speaker's own mics and works on Android too — so Android owners are no longer left out.
